I’ve been pretty excited to try out the new baked potatoes at Fairfax Fare since I saw this post about them on the Disney Blog. I was especially excited for the Fairfax Fare One Pound Baked Potato. Yesterday I got the chance to eat one and I wasn’t disappointed!
For $10.49 you get the baked potato and a small Southwest Salad. The salad has lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and corn, topped with a spicy dressing.
The star of the show, of course, is the baked potato. And this isn’t some puny, little potato either. IT IS HUGE. I don’t think my photo does it justice.
It is filled with tri-tip beef, brown gravy, cheddar cheese, sour cream and chopped green onions. I dislike onions, but they were easy to scrape off.
The beef that they use on this baked potato is definitely the star of the show. It is so tender it was easy to cut with a plastic knife. The baked potato itself was a little dry, probably because it didn’t have any butter on it. It also doesn’t have any salt on it, but you can get some from the condiment station near the covered seating area.
The sour cream and cheddar cheese tastes blend in really well with the baked potato and the beef.
So, I’m not sure if the one pound mentioned in the potato’s title is the weight of the potato itself or if that covers the potato and all the toppings, but the bottom line is, there is a lot of food to eat here 🙂 I think it could be cut in half and easily shared between two people.
If you’re a baked potato fan, you really shouldn’t miss this.
Fairfax Fare can be found on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror are nearby.
