Oh boy, do I have a treat for you! I recently tried the Dole Whip cupcake at the Contempo Cafe inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and let me tell you, it was a pineapple lover’s dream come true.
The cupcake itself is a fluffy yellow cake, but the real star of the show is the Dole Whip pineapple mousse filling. It’s sweet, tangy, and oh so creamy. I could have eaten that filling by the spoonful and been perfectly content.
But wait, there’s more! The buttercream frosting is also pineapple flavored, and it’s topped off with little sugar granules that give it a delightful crunch. The frosting is so good, you’ll want to lick it off the cupcake wrapper.
And of course, no Dole Whip cupcake would be complete without a cherry on top. The cherry adds a pop of color and just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the tangy pineapple flavor.
Overall, I can’t recommend this cupcake enough. The cake was moist and delicious, the filling was out of this world, and the pineapple buttercream frosting was the icing on the cake (pun intended).
